I had the same thought.


I like the idea of adding extra motors on
airplanes to see what happens. The Avro Manchester
was a mediocre twin engine bomber, someone decided
to slap an extra pair of engines and voila, the
Lancaster Bomber. Ditto for the jets installed on
the B-36.

My favorite is the Britten-Norman Islander,
which someone decided could be improved by throwing
an extra engine *on the tail* to make the Trislander.
