Default Another Flight Simulator?

Is there another flightsim on the horizon. Not some little effort.
Every once-in-a-while there's one other than Microsoft's.

What's wrong with the ones we've got?

Well, we've got WWI, WWII, Korean War, VN war and modern sims; fixed
wing and rotary sims, fantasy sims and more realistic ones. I think
the lack of new titles owes to the fact that we were drowned in them a
few years back, and nothing new really pushes the ends of the envelope.

But we've still got a lot of variety - small gen. aviation to jet
liners; cross-country to transoceanic. I think I've so overloaded
myself with sims I never play with because I got more obssessed with
having a variety of sims than actually enjoying them.

Then you need to move to something more complex.
Falcon 4: Allied Force rings a bell, winning a campaign or even online
multiplayer may suit your bill.
If military sims don't float your boat, then maybe some sort of virtual
airline/real time controller/Internet thing.

Try FlightGear (open source) or X-Plane:
