Oshkosh 2005 pictures up by
Alright, I realize that Oshkosh is so very last week, but with my drive home
to Southern California and going back to work it's taken me until now to
weed through all 1992 pictures I took.
I weeded them down to 539... obviously not all of them are interesting but
at least they're broken up into...

Stewart Glenn
I'm looking to start a home built aircraft. Does anyone have any suggestions on which type of lumber to use that's a good alternative for sitka spruce?
Thanks

Modified Exhaust Pipe ala Bingelis by
gtm
One of the methods I want to try to reduce the noise of my Tailwind is
to modify my exhaust pipe as described on page 101 in Bingelis' book
"Firewall Forward." I have a couple of questions.
1) First, has anyone done this and how successful was it?
2) On pages 101 and 106 Bingelis says to bend the...

Wooden Fuselage Gussets by
......... :-\)\)
There are many homebuilts that have open truss type wooden fuselages built
from square spruce sticks joined with plywood gussets. Typically the gussets
are 1/8" plywood. Aircraft such as the Cavalier, Termite, Pietenpol.
Somethings bugging me ....
When it comes time to cover the fuselage what is...

slowest top speed? by
Dan Bond
I'm doing research on the speed distribution of homebuilts. It's easy
to find published data on the fast airplanes, but I'm having a hard
time finding anything on the slowest. Anyone have a suggestion?

Squared trailing edge of control sufraces by
Bruce A. Frank
A while back I remember seeing an article in one of the aviation
magazines about the affect of squared off trailing edges on control
surfaces of light planes. Anyone know where such an article might exist?
So far I have found several Boeing and NACA publications on wings with
blunt trailing edges,...

fuel consumption Jabiru 3300 by

Out of curiosity I started to look for fuel consumption figures for the
Jabiru 3300.
I found a figure of 0.46 lbs/HP/hr which is not particularly meaningful to
me.
Moreover it said "at cruise power" without further specification.
So I started to assume 65% powser for...

Scratch Remover by

I have some scratches in my Plexiglas. What is the best product to use
in order to remove them? They are not very deep, but they are irritating.
Thanks,

Missing a/c Airworthiness and Registration? by
Michael Horowitz
I looked at a Taylorcraft today and it was missing both an
Airworthiness Certificate and Registration.
If I elect to purchase the a/c, how difficult is it going to be to get
a new Certificate and Registration? - Mike

New LSA rules by
Frank
I thought that I understood the new Sport Pilot/Aircraft rules (first
mistake) until I came across the fact that apparently you can buy a ready to
fly CH601HD made by Zenair in the US that is registered as a sLSA, or you
can buy the same ready to fly plane built by Czech Aircraft Works and
register...

Richard Lamb and the Texas Parasol Plans ...and Sirius Aviation by
Richard Lamb
How-DEE! All'a ya'll pudknockers (and the few prime pilots too :^).
First:
Copping a quote from Twain, "the news of my death has been greatly
exaggerated".
Yes, I had surgery to remove a bladder tumor, but the tumor was not
malignant (and THAT is GOOD news!) No kemo or rads required.
But I...
