Rotax Oil Filter by
alhansen
Has anyone found a substitute for the Rotax 912 oil filters? What looks
like a $3 Fram is now up to over $15 + $3 handling + shipping from
Lockwood. More than $26 total to CA.

out-gassing of garment soils in deep space? by
[email protected]
Meanwhile, over in a Mars discussion board, the question has been
raised about whether one can clean garments during an inter-panetary
mission, just by exposing them to the vacuum of deep space.
Let us presume that the major soils are body oils of the groin and
axillary areas.

Zenith carb float help by
COLIN LAMB
I have a Limbach SL-1700 EA1 aircraft engine (1700 cc VW). It is in a
Scheibe SF-28A.
The carburetor is a Zenith 28 ZXF and the float is defective (plastic). The
Limbach factory has not sold parts for this carb for 25 years.
Need a new float. Would love a rebuild kit, also. With the...

Has your kit company gone bankrupt? by
[email protected]
I am researching an article about builders whose kit supplier has
closed or gone bankrupt. If you have found yourself in this
predicament, I would like to talk with you about how you dealt with it
during the building process. You may contact me directly at
Thanks.

Engine Desing by
Chris W
As most of you probably know the opposing cylinders on most engines are
slightly offset to allow for the piston connecting rods to attach to the
crank at different spots. I know of a few model airplane engines, where
instead of having the cylinders offset and having the connecting rods...

sticky valve or by
Dick
Old WW2 mechanic says he hears a sticky valve on my C-85 when I fire up for
first time in morning but can't describe the sound and says it lasts only as
long as a finger snap.
Wants me to add Marvel Mystery oil. I use Aeroshell 100 (50 weight) and
change it every 25 hours.
I can't detect any...

We need a rec.aviation.homebuilt.binaries group. by

I wish we had a rec aviation homebuilt binaries group. Is there one?
we need a place to post pictures of our planes and things we are
working on. If others could see pictures, it's easier than trying to
describe what you are tyring to build or accomplish. I could make it
easier to get helpful...

Aluminum Prop Dings by
canflyboy
Hi All
I'm repainting my McCauley Aluminium prop and was wondering if anyone can
give me some guidance in regards to the little aluminums dings that occurred
on the back side of the tip on the prop. These are tiny dings the prop has
picked up over the years from sucking up debris while taxing. ...

Problems with RAH, or my ISP? by
Morgans
Anyone else have any problems with RAH over the last couple days? I got
only about 15 posts over the last couple days.
I realize it is more than likely my ISP, but I wanted to check here, first.

Question Kitplanes Aero'Lectrics - Feb. 2005 by
Netgeek
The article footnotes say *this* is the venue for asking questions - so
here's my (potentially stupid) question:
What is the estimated power output at the SBL-1 mixer output/antenna
junction (in mW, dBm, joules, Smoots - or whatever other convenient
unit of measurement comes to mind)?
Just...

Weigh scales by
abripl
I sold my mechanical Ruggles weigh scales and now am trying some
digital automotive racing scales that are just a little more expensive.
The scales I found are actually less expensive than normal racing
scales but the real advantage is that they can be sold individually
rather than a set of four....
