Time to change the air in your tires by
Rich S.
(Shamelessly stolen & edited from the garden & lawn tractor forum)
Well spring is nearly upon us, and the oft-forgotten task of removing
the winter air from your airplane tires needs to be completed before the
temps hit 60. Last year I made the ghastly mistake of allowing my mechanic
to change my...

STS 110 loran manual or pinouts by
asdf
Anyone know where I might find the pinouts for an old 110-c STS unit?
A manual would be even better, but pinouts would be enough to figure
out if it even works.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Oil cooler? by
Rick
Hi guys.
The Hobbs on my Zodie HD clicked past the 20 mark this morning. I'm half
way to the magic number 40 when I can finally get outta this 50 mile
circle. All's going well, except the Jabiru 3300's CHT and oil temps
are still hotter than I want to see. At 2750- 2900 RPM's my hottest
cylinder...

sci.space.tech, anyone? by
Richard Lamb
Does anyone here read sci.space.tech?
The reason I ask it because, quite suddenly, it seems to be unavalible.
I'm wondering if it's just earthlink, or did it disappear?
Wouldn't have anything to do with that 100 foot rock that missed us
by that much Thursday, would it?

Note from a Sick Puppy by
Veeduber
Cheap tools are no bargain... but about half of my bucking bars and bumping
dollys started out as the head of a large ball peen hammer... or small drilling
sledge. (You can pour the hole full of lead for added mass.)
Most homebuilders aren't aware of the fact that the basic bucking bars...

Alodine, then what? by
Blueskies
What is an effective way to protect the alodine film? I know I could shoot Zinc Chromate primer (~$8 a can), or use one
of the epoxy two part systems, but I have many small parts (2024-3) and I won't have them all ready at the same time.
What about the latex aluminum primer from Rustoleum:...

Miss May 2004 by
Capt.Doug
I didn't post to the wrong group. Playboy Magazine's Miss May 2004 should be
looked at seriously. She wants to be a corporate Learjet pilot. Anyone care
to help her build some stick time?
D. (P.S.- She can hold altitude and heading very well in the KingAir)

mil spec by
Del Rawlins
I'm looking for the mil spec documents referenced in AC43.13-1b with
regards to crimp on wire connectors and my google abilities are falling
short. Seems like I remember having a link to an index site of mil
specs but it must not have made the move to my most recent computer
because I can't find...

Go over the Binaries Files to see a real Hero by
Badwater Bill
Go over to Alt.binaries.pictures.aviation to get a shot of my pop.
You guys have no idea what a great warrior this guy was for this
country. Most of us could never in our wildest dreams ever live up to
the standards and the completed missions this guy did, then later
directed.
You can't judge a...

Hand Adjustable Reamer? by
Boelkowj
Can anyone recommend a good expandable type reamer (brand name) for aircraft
work? All I need to do is ream out an elongagted hole a few thousands of an
inch but since it is an aft wing attach fitting and the bolt needs to be a
tight fit. I have seen adjustable reamers range from $20 to $60...

O-235 Lycoming Mods by
Do B
Anyone upgraded a O-235-C 6.5 CR 100HP Lycoming using L2C 115HP 9.5 Pistons/Cyl?
If so is it bolt on or is there machining involved?
Any better alternatives? I've heard someone sells high-comp pistons
in the 10.5 CR range.
Thanks!

Premade master and circuit breaker panel by
Corky Scott
I keep misplacing the information about a nice tidy circuit breaker
panel that you can buy that has the master on it and a buss bar and a
number of appropriately sized circuit breakers.
Can anyone tell me the URL where this is described? I've been
searching for several weeks and have not been...

Pulse jet active sound attentuation by
Jay
In an earlier post I read somewhere that the pulse jet is a device
that converts fuel into noise. Someone else had suggested firing 2
engines 180 degrees out of phase with each other to cancel the sound.
If the 2 engines were stacked one over the other, then you might
actually be able to cancel a...
