want variable pitch prop by
Ray Toews
I bought a Jodel an old F11 built in 65 with 1200 hrs on it, from
what I have seen so far it looks good, rugged built.
Needs lots of tinkering, has bolts and screws sticking out everywhere
but we'll fix that, O290 lycoming really wants a variable pitch prop,
allready has a Manifold presure...

Pumping fuel backwards through an electric fuel pump by
Greg Reid
I've installed a 12-gallon fuel cell aux tank in the tailcone of my
4-place conventional low-wing plane -- intended for go-fast trimming
when flying solo more than for its extra fuel capacity. As you know,
a typical 4-place is terribly nose-heavy with only front-seat
passengers and no baggage. ...

Sheet metal shear/press brake by
VideoFlyer
I plan to build a plane from plans and am going to purchase some tools. I
would like to have a sheet metal shear and bending brake. I would like to be
able to cut across a 48 inch sheet of aluminum. I found a 52 inch foot shear
at the Harbor Freight web site for about $900. But for about $70...

piston connecting rod bolt replacement by
Dick
Although finally successful at getting connecting rod pins pressed out with
our chapter's hydraulic press, I don't see how to "rig/jig" to drive out the
rod bolts.
Could someone provide some clarification? thanks.

Mixing construction materials by
Neal Fulco
In the " I wonder if this would work " department, I have a question
about mixing different materials in main airframe structures. To make
a long story short, I was wondering if some weight could be saved by
making a wing with a carbon fiber spar ( high strength, light weight )
with aluminum ribs...

Aircraft Photoguide by
Bob
I came across a photoguide to aircraft in the UK, it's not well advertised
so you may not have seen it. http://www.ukskies.co.uk. It's got hundreds
of aircraft types so it's worth a look.
Does anyone know of any other good sites?

Zzzz Campbell's Second Lawsuit Against Sun-N-Fun Zzzz by
Ron Wanttaja
For those who haven't heard, Jim Campbell has sued Sun-N-Fun for a second
time. The full text of the suit follows...some minor formatting and
spelling changes may have occurred during the digital conversion process,
and I have truncated the address block for the attorney involved.
This suit was...

TIG welding video? by
Russell Duffy
Greetings,
I've got a nice TIG machine, and everything I need to start using it. I've
been through the Miller CD of TIG basics, so I'm fairly familiar with the
process, and all the variables. What I really need now is a video, that
shows someone actually welding various bits of aluminum, and...

Which sport/acro biplane from plans? by
Mr.Twistair
A guy here who doesn't speak English asked me to investigate which aircraft
he should choose to build from plans.
What he wiches:
- single or 2-seat
- limited aerobatics
- engine M14P or Valter M332/337
I can also assume that he isn't the big-buck one. I know that this question
was discussed here...

Air compressor question by
Frederick Wilson
I am still working on home remodel so it will be some time before the
airplane gets started. I am pretty darn convinced that I am going to do an
all wood and fabric airplane. More than likely, the Fisher Tiger Moth.
Anyway, I have come to the point in my home remodel that I am going to need
an air...

12mm ungrounded CHT probes? by
Rob Turk
Fellow homebuilders,
We bought an Insight GEM610 engine monitor for our Jabiru 3300 engine. It
came with the wrong probes. Insight doesn't offer the right ones. So I'm
looking for a source of 12mm ungrounded CHT probes. Anyone here with
suggestions where to get these?
Thanks,
Rob

Soaring vs. Flapping by
patrick timony
In another post we were talking about soaring vs. flapping flight.
Does anyone else find it strange that Soaring flight is so rare in
nature but so popular with us for the last 100 years? I've heard that
the Wright Brothers patented Wing Warping (Flapping) and never let
anyone develop planes using...
