Asiana 777 at SFO by
birdog[_3_]
Full disclosure - I am an 86 year old ex pilot, but my soul is still in
the cockpit. Don't know how pertinent this is, but I got a lot of free
time nowadays.
Back in the late '60's we had a flying club - 3 planes including a 7AC
Champ. An airline pilot temporarily stationed locally joined the...

Asiana 777 at SFO by
Panic[_4_]

within 50’ of the surface, had autothrottles on which pulled the throttles
to idle and the pilot let that happen but rotated to get to the...

Lightning arragements on a DC6B by
ben brugman
Hello All,
I am searching for the lightning arragements on a DC6B, specifically the
start of the sixties for the African continent.
By lightning arragements, I mean the lights which are visible from the
outside of the plane during the flight.
Thanks in advance,
Ben Brugman

I am not an aviator, but I have what hopefully is not a stupid question.
I am a restoring a '80 Triumph Spitfire roadster and would like to add a Supermarine Spitfire gauge to the dash. I found a Slip (balance) and Turn indicator in ebay, but not knowing enough about them I was wondering if it...

GA aircraft windshield question by
Matt C
Hi, I have not been able to find the answer to this question just from Googling the words / terms, so I signed up here to ask directly.
I've noticed in some general aviation aircraft, like the Beech Baron for instance, there is a small, square area in the center of the front windshield.
What is...
