Go to http://www.yahoo.com, click on "Free mail Sign Up"and register.

For the user name, use your club name, airplane registration, or
something else your members will remember. When choosing a password you
will have to compromise between security and ease of remembering for all
your members.

Sign in to Yahoo, then click on the mail icon, there will be tabs for
"Mail | Addresses | Calendar | Notepad"

You set up members email addresses and the club mailing list under
"Addresses" I didn't do that, so you are on your own there.

Under "Calendar" we find the "Month" view to be most useful. You can
enter bookings for a whole or part day. Bookings are recorded as
appointments.

In the title, which appears on the calendar we usually incude member
name, contact phone number and if it is a tentative booking. Recording
the planned return time here is useful, since yahoo only shows the start
time of the appointment.

The "Location" can be destination/local flight etc

The "Notes" may include number of people going, if it's overnight, etc

Location and notes will appear when you hold the cursor over the booking.

Most of us access this from home, but we have an old PC at the airport
and the cheapest dialup internet account available, which we use for
checking and updating bookings, and checking weather. Some members will
update their notes if they are away overnight (e.g. weather delays).

The "Make it your own" link on the first screen after you log in allows a
lot of customization.

This seems to meet all of our needs.
