I'm visiting in Oregon and using a PC at the Public Library right now.
After staring intently at the html on the Tony page for a while I
suddenly said "Duh-oh!" and whumped myself up the side of the head.
I'm staying with a friend tonight and I'll put an ftp program on his
PC and fix the problem. It's not the end tags, but another html
error... a careless one I made when editing the pages as I transferred
them from the old host. It's odd that it showed up in only some
browsers. Here I see the problem in IE 6.0.2800.1106 but I did not
see it on my PC when I tested it last week.
That is why 'HTML validators' exist. Write to the _standards_, and it'll
appear properly in any browser. shortcuts _may_ work, "most of the time"
There are any number of validators available on-line, for free. They're
well worth the little effort it takes to use them.
