Phenolic is also available through McMaster Carr for a lot less money that
Aircraft Spruce...at least the last time I checked.

If you're doing one out of composite, bond in a piece of 1/4" phenolic
plate in place of some of the foam core. Also called micarta. It's
in the spruce catalog. You can tap it 1/8 or 1/4 NPT, and screw in a
standard fitting. Or tap it 10/32 to hold down a flange. It bonds
beautifully.
