On the shot I saw, pilot/pilots definitely had both props fully
feathered prior to scrapage. They really really looked like
four-bladers, would pretty much had to drag a couple on each side.

Would guess that they killed the engines while feathering the props.
Looked like two crew to me. Have in the past secured engines prior to
landing with questionable gear when I had another crew member to share
the task with. Has never happened to me flying solo, but I doubt if I
would screw with it (trying to secure prior to touchdown).
