Actually, the UNIX stty command will permit setting the kill signal
(and the others) to any key (ASCII code) you desire, but the DEL
key/code was the quit command as distributed on all the UNIX systems I
used: SCO, AT&T, ... Control-C was, and still is, the quit signal for
PC-DOS/MS-DOS.
