Getting off-topic, for many years Hall wrote a column for Soaring
Magazine called Homebuilders Hall. He also wrote many articles for SHAp
Talk, the newsletter of the Sailplane Homebuilders Association (now
called the Experimental Soaring Association). The ESA currently sells
the collected works of Stan Hall in a two-volume set. Most of them
describe aspects of aeronautical engineering in terms that most
sailplane pilots can understand, appreciate, and apply. Some of the
articles describe Hall's adventures in Vietnam, supporting th Q-star
reconniassance airplanes then under development, and his later role in
developing the YO-3A airplanes for which he holds the design patent.
I really miss the "Homebuilders Hall" articles that appeared in Soaring
magazine. The collected works mentioned above sits on my library self and
is referred to often.
