While technically it's illegal to share those pages (Canadian plates
are copyright protected), I wonder about how wise it is to grab
individual plates for a single destination. If generally one expects
sufficiently good weather that one won't need plates for nearby
alternate airports, then why worry about the plate in the first place?

Single charts are useful for reviewing the procedures well in advance of
the trip. I agree that one would need several charts for the actual trip.

Also, an alternate should not be a nearby airport but at easonable
distance away where the weather is likely to be very different. The only
time when you want a neighboring airport to be your alternate is if your
destination only has a nonprecision approach and your alternate has a
precision approach.
