College Dictionary. Thanks.

(I think I can do the trenchant ironry and taunt. Petulant? If you are
using that to mean contemptuous, I would have to agree. I do have
contempt for Boyer and his irrational, un-American methods, and his
contempt for everyone who doesn't fly.)
