WooHoo!!!...finally got my wish today...I met the Captain of the
Gimli Glider! (Bob Pearson).

I've always been fascinated by that story, saw the film, read the
book, read the Reader's Digest short story, etc..

Bob has a cottage here on PEI and I have a friend who knows him
(he worked for Air Canada when Bob was there). Anyway Bob has a
sailboat here at the Yacht Club in town and a bunch of us,
including my friend, was there having lunch today... great!!...
never gonna wash my right hand!!...


Very cool .. Is he retired, now?


And does he still fly gliders?
