What are the two large half dome shaped objects on the center console,
just below the keyboards, forward of the radio displays, and outboard
of the throttle handles? Seems like they would be in the way when
trying to use the keyboard, unless they're some odd kind of wrist
rest.

They're plam rests to stabilize your hand when typing on the keyboard.
