This is a somewhat unusual weather pattern over Arizona this week. Lots of
moisture and cloud cover for this time of year. I had a flight yesterday
morning (although not to Sedona) and the ceilings were between 8K and 10K,
and not much convective activity early in the day. Are you coming from the
west? If so, you probably could do it VFR, with good visibility under the
overcast, with scattered showers/virga. I'm not sure about IFR, but
probably not an issue if you can plan for a morning flight. IFR in AZ is
often not practical due to the high MEA's

Coming from VNY. Was planning VFR. Wife is not a morning person but
will try to roust her :-)

How late is too late?
