I believe the original 500 was a C model and had 4 main rotor blades and
a C18 Allison engine. The D model has 5 blades and a C20 Allison. They
are both type 369 helicopters. I believe Magnum used a D model.

There's no difference. 369 was the manufacturer's model series and on

the
type certificate. "500" was the marketing name.

How do you tell the difference between Hughes 369D and 500D from the
outside?

Does any one know if that Hughes (TC's) helicopter appeared in Magnum

P.I.'s

TV shows a 369D or a 500D?
