Dittel radio Service ...

The Dittel SG71M radio that was installed in the ASW-20 I bought
worked great except for the radio memory. I was unable to use or
change the 10 memory locations. Tried replacing the internal battery
and that did not work. I contacted the factory and they referred me
their authorized repair center in Germany who wanted 300 euro's just
look at the radio, repairs were additional and I would have to pay for
shipping both ways.

Another northern UT pilot had his Ditel SG71M serviced by Peninsula
Avionics in FL. I contacted them and they said to ship to them, no
charges till they determine the problem, they would call with an
estimate and I could decide what to do. Shipped the radio off, got a
call 2 days after it arrived and they found a bad IC card. The radio
was fixed, checked over to be sure it was operating within
specifications, a 'return to service' sticker was put on the unit and
it was returned to me. Total cost of $250 including shipping.
