I volunteered for a few months on the restoration of their B-29. I used to
watch for an hour or so coming and going. There would always be a half dozen cars. I haven't been since 9/11, but I've been told you can't park there anymore. Planes would be maybe 200' over me on final. Can't do that anymore. mike I think the parking area off Rt 20 is still open to the public. That's about as close as you'd want to be to a landing 747. Of course at BAF, the National Guard would rather just shoot you instead of chasing you off. |
