That may not be the nicest-looking Woodstock, but I think that there are much stronger contenders for the title out there. Personally, I've always been a fan of the 12-meter Woodstock. It's a great little ship within its intended context: getting into the air cheaply in something you built using simple woodworking tools. When finished with varnish and clear dope they have such a pretty variety of natural colors and textures. And when you take the time to form a nice canopy and nose bowl it goes a long way towards hiding the somewhat angular nature of the design. The problem with the Woodstock is that the context for which it was developed is pretty much extinct. Kids these days tend to spend too much time on the couch, and they don't take woodworking classes. When they want to soar, they tend to do it by investing money and not time. Hi,
thanks for following the original (tongue in cheek) aim of this thread. Indeed the Woodstock looks a bit out of date, but when was it built? If its 70's or 80's it can't be that bad ??? Hi, thanks for following the original (tongue in cheek) aim of this thread. Ok then, I guess I never really added my pick. I've never been a fan of the way the Blanik looks. No dig against where they are made or who makes them. I think they look like a trainer for bomber pilots. Especially the L-13 with the wing tanks and that enormous tail which I think came from a B-25. Yea, I've flown a few different ones and they fly just fine, I have no trouble staying up in them. I just don't like the way they look. So there all you Blanik fans! Flame shields up... 8).........SIFOW Willie G. |

I should first qualify my statement by saying that I used to own a Citroen
2CV and a 2CV wagon and I drove a DS-19 in graduate school. I like the looks of the PW-5 I like the looks of the Blanik I even like the 2-33. There, I have come out of the closet and made it public. Colin |

You are not a well man.
Confession: I drove a Fiat 500 as a kid but I did give it up (not voluntarilly, my last Fiat 500 was confiscated when I was discovered to be under-age, but its a long story)... |
