Go to: http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?e...04X01093&key=2
and see what NTSB says about accident (no pictures).

Witness reports, analysis of tape taken of aircraft taxing on taxiway
etc.

From data presented, it is easy to place primary blame.

My condolences to the family of the deceased.

Some post-accident photos (no gore, thankfully) showing the RV and TBM
Avenger were posted on a forum on Doug Reeves' RV website:

Really gives some perspective on the visibility, or lack thereof, that both
pilots must have experienced.

Mine, also.

It surely does seem to be an open and shut case.

My guess is that there will have to be a motorbike with every taildragger
warbird, next year. That is an unfortunate thing to have to happen, because
Papa taxiway is plenty wide to S-turn.

Complacency kills.

Early reports can be all over the place. Fist report
was that there was only the pilot in the RV-6, next I heard the
RV-6 passenger was killed and the pilot was severally injured.
Reports now say that the RV-6 pilot was not injured so who knows
for sure at this point. I cannot believe that the RV-6 pilot was
not injured at all. Of course the TBM pilot and his wife were
not injured. I feel bad for them also as that would be a awful
thing to have to deal with.

Should have put the Avenger passenger (or a warbird fan) sitting on the
wing to clear the taxiway in front. Thats how they did it in WW 2 -
lots of pics of P-47s and Spitfires with a crewchief hanging on to the
guns.

Stupid.

Doubtful that would be allowed at OSH. It really is not necessary, if you
S'turn deeply, and don't just guess that there is nobody in front of you.
It seems to have worked for many years, for most warbird pilots.

Nope, you can't make everything foolproof. They keep on making better
fools.
