Jay, you didn't mention what type foam was used for the seats. |

Regular upholstery seat foam. Nothing fancy -- my upholstery guy has a dim view of the expensive (I.E.: Oregon Aero) stuff. He says that many of his customers ask him to remove that stuff -- apparently it's not comfortable for some? -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

BTW are you in the market for a GPS, I see you didnt have anything
mounted on the windshield center bar so thought you may want to add a back up to the back up there ![]() When you always have two pilots on board, it's really nice to have two GPSs. The Lowrance Airmap 300 on the co-pilot's yoke no longer "sees" the airport database -- which is why we replaced it with the AvMap. However, it still functions just fine -- so we programmed in all of our "regular" airports as waypoints, just like we used to do with our first "boating" GPS. And when our directional gyro went Tango Uniform, we configured the Airmap to be a faux DG. All in all, it's nice to have -- if for no other reason than Mary can yell at me when I'm off course by more than 5 degrees! :-) -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

GPS's are great, I will probably keep my garmin 295 (my garmin 430 installation
is going to be done tomorrow for sure) as a backup, plus its good for sitting at home and doing my flight planning on it. The only thing my wife care about on the GPS is the ground speed and ETA the faster the GS the shorter the ETA ![]() Jay Honeck wrote: BTW are you in the market for a GPS, I see you didnt have anything mounted on the windshield center bar so thought you may want to add a back up to the back up there ![]() When you always have two pilots on board, it's really nice to have two GPSs. Wow. Looks nicer than the inside of my Acura.
Did you have "nasa foam" or other chiropractic adjustments done to the front seats? My ass goes to sleep after a couple hours and I've been wondering if I should add more padding myself (hello buffet!) or rehab the seat. The only cure for that would be to remove the seat and replace it with a
bicycle type saddle, while you are at it you can also add a bicycle crank and pedals. This way when your engine goes Tango Uniform you will still be able to power the prop. Glad that I could help! Did you have "nasa foam" or other chiropractic adjustments done to the
front seats? No fancy foam -- but he DID install a big chunk of foam at the base of each seat for lumbar support. That thirty cents worth of foam rubber makes an amazing difference on a long (or short, for that matter) flight. -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |
