Cool! I attended the BVS show last Saturday, too. Still sorting the
pictures, but it was their best yet. The F-18s were a real surprise.

Thanks for those shots, Bob. I kind of watched for you there, but I guess
my powers of observation were somewhat frayed by the F-18 afterburners!

Do you have a shot showing the complete aircraft, including the wing
tips? If so could you please post. Joe.

This critter has been sitting in this spot at BVS for several years, and is
slowly succumbing to the elements. It first appeared at Boeing Field back
in 1979 where it was restored and repainted. I'm not sure of its current
status or ownership.

Yeah - folks are asking me why I'm yelling the last couple days; I keep
replying "What?!?"

I wandered about before the flying started, but then parked myself at
the rope just east of the firetrucks for the air show. Bum back really
doesn't like me hauling the 20 lbs of cameras around like in the old
days...

Some days history jumps out at you. I remember seeing this bird come
out of the NASA hanger at Moffett field about October of 1968. It did
a take off, fly by and landing and basically never heard much engine
or prop noise. Then about a weeek later it was de winged and put on a
C141 and gone. I heard it appeared in Viet Nam, but not able to
verify that.
