Lightspeed Headset Story-Wow by
Al Gilson
I have a Lightspeed 15XL ANR headset and I like it. It really cuts down
on the noise. However, when I pulled it out to go flying a couple of
weeks ago, I discivered that the headband was broken. I was depressed.
I have had it for about 18 months and I figured I was going to be
royally screwed...

Flying our Cardinal south for its new plumage - Long report by
Longworth
Rick and I flew our Cardinal south for a paint job with AOGPaint in
Mena, Arkansas last Sunday. The $6K saving and the opportunity to gain
some long cross-country instrument flying experience was definitely
worth the hassle.
Our departure time was delayed by the Northeast heavy downpour...

Fuel Gauge Inop VFR Day by
Flyin'[email protected]
I have scheduled a plane for this weekend and reviewed the squak sheet. I
noted that the Fuel Gauge for one of the fuel tanks is Inop. I originally
thought this to be no big deal, but, upon further review of the FAR section
91.205, have found that it is a required peice of equipment for a day...

Power setting table and best economy/best power... by
xerj
When a power setting table shows a "best economy" and "best power" setting
for a given power level (say 75%) using a given MP and RPM this is just a
starting point, right?
Once the MP and RPM has been set and the leaning done, the actual power
settings would be more like 78% for best power, and...

Interesting day for flying in the ADIZ by
Michelle P
Well today our mid-day run started out rather boring. The first hour we
were cruising for accidents. Nothing to be found. Then the call come in
from my observers boss. Head to baltimore and see what's going on. Once
we joined the party over the tunnels the fun started back and forth to
see which...

Prairie Aviation Museum PIREP by
Jay Honeck
Recently a poster recommended adding the Prairie Aviation Museum to our
list of "Fly-In Aviation Museums" (See:
http://www.alexisparkinn.com/fly-in_aviation_museums.htm) -- which was
a real "doh!" moment for me, since these fine folks had actually stayed
with us at the inn this past August.

Hi all,
Just figured I'd let everyone know that after 19 long years, I managed
to pick up my ATP last week. Many thanks to Ryan (of fergworld.com

several questions via email that helped me get the ball rolling many
months...

position and hold at an angle by
Jose
A few months ago there was a discussion here about positioning on the
runway at an angle to better see traffic from the rear while awaiting
takeoff clearance, and I opined in the face of dissent by Steven
McNicoll that it was a good idea.
I had a chance to fly a 172 while I was out west and was...

aaron
Hi everyone. I am a US Patent Agent looking to get my private pilot
licence. If you are a CFI and an inventor, let's do a trade. Neither
one of us want to pay thousands, if we don't have to. Email or post
if you are interested.
