need link for SS rivet supplier by Charles S
I know this is not proper for this group, but I need to purchase some countersunk very small SS rivets. I need to connect 2 and three sheets of 20 ga. stainless. I feel there are more qualified metal working craftsmen here, as anywhere. Hence I ask. I would sure appreciate a link to a supplier...

Rounded elevator counterbalance leading edges by Ed Wischmeyer
Anybody know of a reference on this on the web, or (gasp) even in print? I know that there are some supposed advantages to this, as opposed to having a squared off leading edge which fairs in perfectly when the elevator is perfectly aligned with the stabilizer. thanks Ed Wischmeyer

So Cal Aviation Boneyards by
Hey guys and girls, A friend and I would like to crawl some junkyards for inspiration, possibly parts that catch our eye, and frankly because we really want to. Are there still places around (let's say within a couple hours' drive of the LA area) that will let you wander and rummage? We're not...

Glad to hear the initial reports were wrong about accidents, as they usually are. by Tedstriker
What a relief to find out that the accidents were not fatals. Initial reports always seem to come in worse than the facts.

Oshkosh RAH RAP Frequencies (Final ... sort of) by Jim Weir
Since I have no verified or observed data from which to work, here are the final suggested frequencies for the RAH/RAP group to use going to, coming from, and while on the field: FRS -- Channel 3 with no PL (no tone encoding) Amateur 2-meter -- 145.75 simplex no PL. Use the local repeaters...

Oshkosh 2004-T-Tailed Pusher Aircraft by Jesse Zufall
I was going thru my images from Oshkosh 2004 and was hoping that someone could help me identify this aircraft. It is a high-wing, t-tailed, pusher. For the life of me I can not recall who makes it. I have posted an image of it here, http://zufalls.com/images/pusher.jpg This was taken as my father...

GNS 430 Volume by GuppyPilot
After installing a used GNS-430 in my RV-7 project, I'm noticing that the volume knob doesn't seem to be working -- The output is only at one level, and can only be altered by the headset's own volume control. I doubt it'll be loud enough for flight, even with the headset turned up all the way....

Bank/turn indicator instrument question by Bruce W.1
I'm considering ripping the curved tube out of an aircraft bank indicator to use an inclinometer (or clinometer) on a bicycle. There's a bicycle bubble level on the market but I don't think it's a good design. My question is, on aircraft bank indicators, why do they look like they are about 6"...

Bending extruded angle by Veeduber
To All: Extrusions of every type are common stuff in airplanes but many homebuilders may not be aware of the fact the extruded shape usually receives additional forming. Extruded angle, for example, may be opened or closed by as much as twenty degrees (depending on the alloy). It is also common...

Nearly ready for the A&P exams by Mark
Hello. I just completed the last of the three written exams for my Airframe & Powerplant rating. So I no longer have an excuse to put off the oral and practical test! Any words of wisdom for how to best prepare for this test? Also, should I go for both licenses in a single O&P session, or study...

Rust in tight places by mhorowit
I'm removing surface rust on a 4130 fuselage prior to priming. Assume I'm in a place where I can't use my sandblaster. I need to get into the tight places of a cluster to remove surface rust. I can get pretty deep in the cluster with emery cloth, but there is the last 1/8". There are rust...

I keep looking at teh web site and owner's sites. I wish the cruise was a little higher and when you check out the full deflection maneuvering speed you have to wonder how stron it is. There is also the pegasthol wing with pressure actuated slats. Higher cruise but they have some kind of argument...
