TFRs in KML (for GoogleEarth) by

US Pilots,
With the onset of cooler weather, I've had time to do a tiny project I've been meaning to work on for a long time. Many of you are aware that my website (http://www.soaringdata.info) can produce current US Temporary Flight Restriction airspace files in formats that work with most glide...

Hi Gang
I recently purchased a portable PowerFlarm from Rex. It came with
the old software and I downloaded the 1.2 firmware onto the micro SD
card (supplied) and installed it so that the PCAS function would work.
I then added the security code for my Mode S transponder which
requires you to go...

Needwood Forest Gliding Club by
Rob Shepherd
Has anyone flown from there or been a member?
I'm thinking of moving clubs for a couple of reasons but thought I'd see
if anyone had any views on here before I go take a look.
Cheers
Rob

2011 Seniors TA Day 2 Report by
Frank Paynter[_2_]
Day 2 of the 2011 Seniors is in the bag, and we all had a pretty good
time of it. Weather seemed to be better to the south, so the CD
called a 3-turn TAT; south to Myakka Head with a 15 mile radius, then
ENE to Frostproof with a 20 mile radius, then NW to Blackwater Creek
with a 20 mile radius,...

R6North Contest Poll
Dear SSA Members:
I'm gauging pilot interest for competing at a R6 North Contest to be held either at Ionia, Owosso, or Lenawee County (Adrian) airports in late June or July 2019.
Both Adrian Soaring Club and Sandhill Soaring Club (my home club) have expressed an interest...

Worlds Biggest, Fastest Glider by
Walt Connelly
I am sitting at a Denny's in Titusville, Florida waiting to go to the visitors center at the space center with a friend who has tickets to the big show. Gonna watch the Space Shuttle take off up close and personal. The ultimate glider if you will....and hell....even if you won't.

Pawnee fuel tank vent drip by
Mike McCarron[_2_]
Our club tows with a Pawnee and we have noticed a very slow fuel drip
coming out of the fuel tank vent. This drip happens most of but not all
of the time and it does not seem to matter whether the tank is full, half
full, or near empty. Any ideas as to what the cause might be?
Thanks

List of Questions about restoring a glider by
[email protected]
Here's a list of questions about restoring an ASW-15B model.
How expensive is it to tint a canopy?
What about hinging it?
The old metal Ben Greene trailer sure could use some struts/hydraulic
to help open and close the lid. It's really heavy. Anything to
assist in opening it?

Thermaling by
Robert Gaines
I am not sure if it is correct technique, but I have learned over many =
years that a slip followed by a skid seems to increase climb rate. The =
idea is to alternate between the two maneuvers quickly. If done =
properly and at a rapid rate, the result is amazing.
