Tom
I have a few new (old stock) Kalfex driveshafts for sale. I had these
re-inspected two weeks ago at an FAA/Bell certified center. Each shaft
comes with an 8130 hard card w/ JAA permissions. These fit the Bell
OH-58 and I have a copy of an STC that shows this exact Kamatics p/n:
SKCP2348-5 being...

Is this chopper about to crash? by
Trentus
It would appear that the majority in aus.aviation seem to think this shot
http://www.thedamnedestthing.com/page15.html was moments from impact, but
then they fly the wrong type of aircraft in that newsgroup, so what would
they know.
If not how is it still in the air at that angle? My "hunch" is...

Anyone know of a completed Mini 500 For Sale cheap near Minnesota? by
SA
A friend of mine in Minnesota is determined to buy a helicopter and is ready
to buy but he doesn't have a lot of money, maybe $15K. I bet he will never
try flying it, just wants something that looks nice. Likes Mini 500 but
would consider others. Email me if you know of something.

RotorWay International, based in Chandler, Ariz., has sold more than 900
kits for small homebuilt helicopters, and now is starting development of

Any UH-1 owners in here? by
Jim
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone that knows about owning a UH-1 would be
willing to talk to me about it (off list if you want, or on
list..maybe others would be interested).
I have a bunch of questions regarding a future purchase. Things like
where the type certificate comes from, and are there...

Electric motor assisted super- or turbocharger? by
Max Kallio
2-stroke diesels need compressed air for starting the engine, so the
turbo (exhaust driven centrifugal supercharger) is out of a guestion
and it produces very little boost at low rpm anyhow.
How about supplementing a centrifugal turbocharger with a high speed
electric motor to create boost needed...

Rotor-wing question by
D. Andrews
Hello all,
This is my first time posting here, but I figured maybe you all could
help me out with a question that has been nagging at me for quite a
while. Forgive me if this seems like a stupid question.
Here goes:
Does a helicopter, without lateral movement, have the ability to fly
down, or...

Kamov folding helicopter? by
Mr.Twistair
Joss, this heli is slightly described at http://twistairclub.narod.ru
including photos of it's step-by-step unfolding. It wasn't ever flown. The
main reason why is mostly explained as "no suitable engine which would fit
this design that time". I've heard that it was designed to be powered by
small...

Power Off Touchdown Autorotation by
SelwayKid
Well it appears this board needs something to stir some activity. So,
let's talk about touchdown autorotations. Just like spins in the
phyxed wing world, there are those who argue for/against touchdown
autos.
I've been flying helicopters since the mid 60's and have done quite a
few touchdown autos...

Use of hand-held GPS on FAA check ride by
Barry
After decades of national policy prohibiting use of hand-held VOR and GPS on
FAA check rides, FAA Flight Standards Headquarters in Washington DC
(AFS-800) finally reversed itself and is now allowing the use of hand-held
VOR and GPS on Private, Commercial and Instrument FAA check rides.
So, if your...

FAA to End part 91 Sightseeing flights? by
Vaughn
The below is from AOPA:
FAA PROPOSAL WOULD SQUEEZE CHARITY FLIGHTS, SIGHTSEEING OPS
An FAA notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) published this week would
likely shrink the pool of pilots able to help local charities with
fundraising flights and, by the FAA's own admission, drive hundreds
of small...

sneezing while flying helicopter by
Simon
Hi, I am interested in helicopter flying and may book a lesson, etc.
I have a serious question that perhaps is slightly comical.
I have read lots of info, and it seems to me that a sneeze could be
fatal.
I mean, it's dodgy in a car - more dangerous than adjusting the stereo
perhaps.
To the...

Baby Belle in the air again by
Stuart & Kathryn Fields
Well after a year on the ground, which started out to be just a condition
inspection, a 1800 sq ft building expansion got in the way, my bird took
flight yesterday. After extensive re-rigging and checking to insure
sufficient negative pitch to allow autoroatation, I carefully lifted the
bird...
