ASW-15 Impressions by
[email protected]
For the guys here who are familiar with 1970’s soaring, have any of you owned an asw-15 and what were your impressions of them?
I flew one once many many years ago but it was just an early morning 15 minute sleigh ride and I was a kid. I don’t know how I would fit now (6ft 1in, 190 lbs but...

Seeking head rest for ASW-20C - or a cheap chiropracter : ) by
Dan Colton
I love my ASW-20C but one thing is missing. A baby soft fuzzy headreast to lean into against those full-rack black-out pull ups, and barf your guts red-out push overs. I need one of those soft lams wool pillows attached to a decent frame to configure the perfect head rest. Does anyone has a...

What has become of Gliding International? by
2G
I subscribed to the digital edition at the first of the year. I received access to one issue. Then the next issue came out and I couldn't access it. I sent John an email asking for a resolution to my problem and got no response whatsoever. Since then there hasn't been any notice of another issue,...

Instructing in club environment by
bds
I am looking for input on how different clubs work with their instructors.
Do instructors pay the same dues and tow fees as all other members? If so,
does your club "compensate" its instructors in any other way?
Does your club pay for instructor refreshers or renewals? How about...

DG's latest volley by
raulb
In the latest DG newsletter:
http://www.dg-flugzeugbau.de/newsletter-138.html
As I read Dirks' comments, Weber is full of crap. I also think Weber
shot himself in the foot by publishing Dirks' comments.
As laid out by Dirks, the rules say "the latest version" of the manual
has to be used. He...

Blanik L-13 tow out gear by
TDixon
So as not to redesign the wheel, has anybody made tow out gear for a
Blanik L-13. My tie down is at the opposite end of the runway from
the normal launch end and I would like to use something other than a
rope and wing walker. I would appreciate any descriptions, plans,
drawings or photos of...

Blanik tire problem by
Greg Arnold
The Blanik has a 350 x 135 tire. Apparently the company that used to
make an inner tube to fit this tire has stopped doing so. The local
Blanik operator has been told that the appropriate tube is 500 x 5.
In the last week, there have been 3 flat tires on the Blanik. Each
time, there was a 1-2"...

2-32 Speeds? by
John Seaborn
The SGS 2-32 has two categories of critical speeds, the "High
Performance" and "Utility" depending on gross weight.
Looking through the flight manual I see that at 1430lb max gross
Utility Category stall is estimated at 47mph. Red Line in this
category is 139 mph. What I do not see is the Caution...
