I need a glider in trailer towed from NY to WA by [email protected]
I've committed to buy an L-23 in Sarasota Springs, New York. It includes an enclosed trailer. I need it to come to Walla Walla, WA. Anybody coming in west that wants some help with expenses? Would like to have it shipped right after January 1. Thanks!

Rico audio variometer by [email protected]
With my new glider, I got a box of extra equipment. Included was a never-used Rico audio vario, still in the box, but without documentation. It checks out good. But does anyone have any info on these varios? Specifically: What size capacity bottle should be used with this? What are the...

Our own BB (John Cochrane) on NPR by DRN

Static Wing Load Testing of Old Wooden Glider Wings by LongJourney
I'm restoring a 1963 Std Austria and trying to decide the risks and merits of load testing the wings. I can't find anything definitive on the web, at least nothing that doesn't get contradicted by some other source. My concern is that load testing may damage the wings in an undetected way. OTOH,...

Blanik Weak Link for Winch Launch??? by Gary Emerson
I'm really curious what weak link people are using to winch launch Blaniks with. If you are using the CG bridle, do you use the blue tost weak link (in the BGA list) or a stronger one? Blue seems too weak and wants to break frequently and under only moderate climb angles. The L-13 manual...

Sacrificial layer for gear-up protection. by Bill D
Lets say you are deploying a retractible gear glider in a club with members who some might suspect of landing the thing gear-up someday. (Of course, you private owners never land gear-up...) Is there a way to minimize the damage when the inevitable day arrives? Maybe. One of my favorite...

302 wind calculation by AK
Does anyone have any insight into how a 302 calculates wind? How good is it in regards to wind a straight flight with very little turning? How valuable is it on a ridge? What does it need in order to calculate probable wind one 360 turn, part of a turn, two turns? Any information is appreciated.
