Seven years is the statute of limitations on *I told you so's* ...anything
after that falls under the asperses of unearthing repressed memories.

My Plane Almost Became an Insurance Claim by
JimC
I don't know all the details and what I know is second hand, but it appears
a prospective buyer of a Navion lost control of the plane on the ramp and
caused some serious damage. This happened mid week at Avion Jet Center,
Sanford Airport (SFB), just north of Orlando, FL.
Allegedly, the...

Slick Mag Question by
John Galban
I'm working with a friend on his RV-10 project. I was looking over
the engine parts prior to assembly and I noticed something on the left
mag that I wasn't familiar with.
On the side of the LH mag, there's a small stud with a couple of
nuts and washers on it. The label reads : Retard. 13-15...

KI-214 Service Manual by
Jim Weir
Anybody got a 214 service manual that I can borrow for a week. I'll be glad to
pay a reasonable "rental" plus send a reasonable deposit plus shipping to get
it.
I freely admit...to blundering and misreading and then using the KI-211 pinout
to wire the interconnect to the 170B. Here's some free...

replacement rotating beacon for 64 piper cherokee by
Patrick Mathews
My rotating beacon stopped rotating and I need to replace it. I would like
to do this as economically as possible as I don't do a whole lot of night
flying and would rather spend the money on avgas.
It seems my options are limited to the Whelen HRCFA strobe - I tried to use
a 70509 flasher but...

TBO Questions O-200 by
Carl Orton
I'm getting conflicting information, so pitch in to set me straight.
In the archives, I've seen several instances where owners have claimed
taking their O-200's over 3000 hrs before overhaul. I believe that with
regular oil analysis, this could probably be true. HOWEVER, I've seen other
posts...

Middleton, WI (C29) Hangars? by
R. Wubben
I am moving to Madison, WI later this year and have heard thru the
grapevine and on the internet that new hangars are being built at the
Middleton, WI airport (Morey Field, C29). Is this true? Are any
available? The airport folks referred me to the city of Middleton, but
my calls have not been...

Windshield sealant by
Mike Noel
I need to seal my plexiglass windshield in a few spots and happen to have
some GE Silcone II sealant on hand. It is spec'd as low odor but releases
methanol and ammonia as it cures. I have seen warnings against using
regular silicone sealant since the acetic acid it releases can corrode
aluminum,...

Tire opinions? by
[email protected]
Hey, all... as usual, I figured I'd try to get some opinions on
a new purchase for the Cherokee. Mains are worn out, and I am leaning
towards some McCreary AirHawks. Any thoughts? The plane sits outside,
but has been getting lots of flying in of late. I find it hard to believe
that a tire that...

Need new PA28 tach by
Michael Isaksen
Can anyone recommend a source to replace the erratic Tach in our 79
Archer. I'm looking for "new" and have seen the Mitchell replacements
with custom markings as acceptable. But since this is for a club
airplane which is billed on Tach, I would like to get an identical
Tach
with both tenth and...

external oxygen port? by
Kyler Laird
On our way home not long ago we landed in Denver with our oxygen
getting low. I asked for a fill and they gave it their best shot
but our configuration didn't leave them sufficient space for all
of the adapters they needed to use. The ride home was...well, I
was glad that I had the oximeter. (As...
