Downloading flying music? by
Jay Honeck
We've got the PS Engineering CD/Intercom in our plane, and listen to CDs on
long trips.
I am obviously slipping into "dinosaur" status, as I have never downloaded
music, for "burning" onto a blank CD. I *have* burned CDs, but I've always
done it from tracks played off of another CD.
Does anyone...

"K" in VOR identifier by
Jack Cunniff
I had a first today; flying VFR across New England on this clear winter
day, my route took me over Bradley, KBDL. I always tune VORs during my
flights, so tuned Bradley's VOR.
Identifying, though, was interesting. The morse identifier was FOUR
characters, the last three of which were B D L. I had...

OK, why do they cover the prop? by
C J Campbell
This month's EAA calendar features an Aeronca Champ on skis. I don't fly
much in weather that is THAT cold, so....
What is with the foxy covers on the prop?

Instrument Exams by
Jeb
Studying both for the FAA/IR and a UK IMC rating. The UK IMC give a
good clue to what it is. It allows flying in IMC but with limited IFR
privileges. Essentially it is a get home safe rating. UK weather is so
unpredicable that it is feasable to get caught out easily even with
the most thorough of...

When performing eights on pylons, is the goal to keep the target at the same

Canada overflight question by
SeeAndAvoid
Hey all,
Anyone in the Great Lakes area familiar with the procedures for overflying
Canadian airspace? Specifically from the Detroit area to Niagara Falls, NY.
Is there a fee if you don't land in Canada? Do you still have to file a
DVFR flight plan? I can't believe you'd have to go through...

Music in planes? by
Tom|420
Is it allowed to listen to music while at the commands of an aircraft?
Is so, do you?
What else do you do during long flights once auto-pilot is engaged? Do
you just take time to watch the landscapes?

how many people flying at any one time? by

I'm having trouble tracking down a statistic I'm after, thought you
knowledgable folks might be able to help. As the subject title says:
how many people are aloft in aeroplanes at any one time...?
Thanks for your time.

Flying with kids- how young is too young? by
Paul Folbrecht
I have a friend who really wants me to take he & his two boys up- they
are 3 & 5. I am worried about them "freaking out"- especially the
little one. They have never flown before (commercially or otherwise).
Of course they need to be in back of the 172, which would make it
difficult for my friend...

GPS question by
Ingo K?hne
Hello
I am not a real pilot, just interested in aviation and simulation. My
question is if the GPS with all its accuracy and worldwide
availability will soon replace all other navaids for IFR. So a little
provocative: who needs VORs and NDBs anymore?

WANTED: 172 or 152 partner in SE WI by
Paul Folbrecht
I am looking for a partner to co-own a 50s-early 80s 172 (preferably) or
152. In short, I want to buy an aircraft but don't believe that
sole-ownership will be a cost-effective solution for me. I single
partner would be ideal.
Preferably would hangar at MWC (Timmerman) but that doesn't have to...

Pay as you go (Was AirNav not publishing fuel prices) by
David Reinhart
Somebody pointed out in one response to this thread that when you add up
all the "nominal" fees we shell out as pilots, pretty soon the total
ain't so nominal anymore.
There are lots of services out there (not just aviation related) that
I'd like to use but I can't justify given the amount of use...
