Does it have to WHITE!!! by
firstflight
I have a composite kit aircraft, and it is time to paint! But I just hate
the idea of painting it WHITE (like most all the others). I understand that
HEAT is a big factor in this decision, and that white attracts the least
amount of heat which could disrupt the Epoxy over time. Since my plane...

Just go to the the Catalog page and click on "Free Download of
Technical Library". Takes a while but is well worth the effort.

Resin INfusion: Better than Vacuum Bagging by
Steve G
Hi everyone,
I posted a while back mentioning the resin infusion process that I am using
to build my catamaran sailboat. It seemed like there was a fair amount of
cross post interest here in this news group, so I am posting to say that I a
have updated my website ...

I want a hoverboard/ultralight helicopter. by
speedevil
I was browsing my favourite chinese junk site, and came across
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15230
This is a 70mm diameter fan that takes 580W of power, and produces
1.1Kg of thrust, and weighs 116g.
Imagine a board around a meter round, with a large number - around 150
- of these...

misdrilled hole on on tubular aluminum spar question by
patrick mitchel
There's a discussion on a ul ng about a guy that built a strut braced light
plane and in a fit of overkill (apparently ) decided to add a (non plans)
jury strut. He drilled a hole (3/16") on the bottom of the tubular alum
spar. Then realized he may have made a mistake. Whats the outcome and is...

Rate of climb by
Dillon Pyron
The newest "tallest building" is the Taipei 101, at over 1650 ft.
What is truly amazing are the elevators, which ascend at a rate of
over 3300 ft/min. As my wife pointed out, "my poor eardrums". Can
you get an embolism at that rate? (I'm a diver, getting a bubble is a
major issue).

alternate engine in Falco by
Jonny[_2_]
There are many aircraft that allow for a variety of engines. Some
engine makers even supply cowling/nose bowl kits for popular types
(Rans, Vans) etc.
So, what do you think of using a Jabiru 5100 (8 cyl) in a Falco in
place of the Lycoming io-360?
Jabiru is narrower and less tall, but is a few...

Interesting biplane project... look at the wing profile by
Bob Kuykendall
On eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260325125475
Item number 260325125475 if that URL doesn't work for you.
The thing I'm curious about is the wing profile. Sections like that
seem to work for the F-117 stealth fighter. But it seems a bit out of
place on this...

jig and weld, drill, file smooth, curse, repeat as necessary.
I ordered a 9"x 9" sheet from Wicks and sure enough, it arrives the

under closer inspection I found out what it really was. The unit is...

Harley oil cooler for interior heat. by
[email protected]
I don't have heat inside my canard plane. Now am considering piping
hot engine oil to the cabin through a small oil cooler with a blower.
I am looking at a Harley Dyna oil cooler - about the right size. My
question is whether such a cooler will stand the typical aircraft oil
pressure. My engine oil...

What Others Are Saying About Aircraft Spruce by

Just a sampling. There's volumes more in Google, enough to make a stout
hog retch:
Amen to HBW's comments. I've had the same problems with Spruce;
screwed up orders and no one who gives a damn. The fact that they got
so big so quickly is not an excuse for ****ty service. Unfortunately,
they...
