Enlarging a bushing hole? by
Michael Horowitz
I find myself having to enlarge a bushing's ID by 1/16ths to 3/8ths.
My concern is I don't know how to insure the 3/8" bit is aligned with
the axis of the hole. Centered is good, but I'm more concerned with
the alignment.
Suggestions? - Mike

Why do you build airplanes? by
cavelamb himself[_4_]
Personally, I've never enjoyed anything as much as the act of creating a
flying machine. Well, ok, there was sex back in my young and dumb days.
But for me - it's the act of creation.
I suspect others may have different thoughts.
Anybody care to share?

Gerdes fuel valve info? by
justaguy
Anybody know where I could find some info on an old Gerdes fuel
valve?
This is out of a 30 yr old experimental and I wanted to a parts
diagram and list before I open it up to see if it needs to be worked
on.
A google search only turned up a few hits. Is Gerdes still in
business?

Not Repairable? by
Bob Kuykendall
I was somewhat amused by this salvage auction for a 2007 Cub Crafters
Sport Cub, N475CC:
http://www.aigaviation.com/salvage/N475CC/SalvageN475CC.aspx
The funny part is this quote:
Remarks: Aircraft is dismantled. According to Cubcrafters,
It is confirmed that the fuselage is not repairable...

Plexiglas protective cover removal by
Klettke
I got several good suggestions for the removal of the protective covering on
my Plexi windows. The covering had been on there for years and was cracked
and not willing to come off.
I tried alcohol, hair dryer and even "goof off". The hair dryer helped and
with the aid of a wooden scraper I...

Making plastic parts by
Lou
Does anyone know of a material that starts as a liquid, but hardens as
a platic?
I want to make some custom plastic parts for my plane (no not for the
structure)
that will require making a mold and then pouring in the liquid.

Bubble canopy / solar heating -- addendum by
Peter Dohm
I was reminded, in an off line conversation, that UV intensity increases
with altitude. Therefore, the skin cancer risk that I always regard as
exagerated at sea level is much more worthy of concern--and therefore of
prevention--at altitude. The higher you go the more important it gets,...
