iPhone X and iGlide - the verdict is in. by
Andy Blackburn[_3_]
Thanks for this. OLED ought to be better in high brightness environments so it's reassuring that it is. It looked to me like Apple didn't set the max brightness on the iPhone X as high as I would have liked, but I could only experience it in the store.
Seems like one reflection problem is off the...

Gliding in Myanmar by
Andy Davey
Just seen a mention on a website about gliding in Myanmar(formerly
Burma) at a place called Taungbbi.
Anyone got any more info? I'm currently working in
myanmar for 3 months, and it'd be great to get it in
my logbook!
Regards,
Andy

commodious sailplane by
Andy Davey
I agree with Astir CS and club Astir, also K23. Haven't
flown any of the higher performance stuff..If you're
looking for wooden ships, then try a Skylark 4 - huge
armchair of a cockpit! But probably not too many for
sale over there.
Forget Ka6 and early DG ships...

Frankfort in October by
Andy Davey
I live in the area (Aschaffenburg). I can recommend
Babenhausen, Aschaffenburg(EDFC), Gelnhausen, Langenselbold
and Obernau.
Babenhausen is winch and aerotow, EDFC aerotow only,
as is gelnhausen. the other 2 are winch only.
Unless you've got your own a/c, then the normal procedure
is a wazz round...

Winching-Cable danger by
Andy Davey
When I drove winches for the air cadets, we often had
problems with bits of cable flying about in the cab.
On the old Eagle winches there are 2 drums, one of
which is directly in front of the driver. If the cable
'threw a loop' then it would rattle against the totally
inadequate metal grille that...

cable splicing(w/o ferrules) by
Andy Davey
When I flew for the Air cadets, we used to just tie
a reefknot in the cable and tape over the 'tails' with
the same tape as racing cyclists used to use for their
handlebars(basically cloth tape) . You need to leave
about 4' tails. This worked fine and takes about 30
seconds to do with a good team....
