Off Topic - Spruce Goose by
Steve Beaver
We have all seen the film of the Spruce Goose lifting off the water for a
few seconds only to be retired to its hangar never to fly again but I
wonder, what would its performance have been? Did Hughes determine in that
brief hop that the aircraft was no good or did ecconomic concerns ground...

Tiny vacuum pump by
Jim Weir
Does anybody have an idea on how to make a tiny little vacuum pump on the order
of an aquarium pump or so that will draw just a few inches of water? Preferably
110, but I can rig up a 12 volt supply if necessary.
The reason I say this is that I'm getting ready to pack a fairly large number...

How compressor power rating is related to air pressure? by
RU ok
"Morgans" wrote:
Why not use a small 12 volt air compressor, like for a car tire. You could
get a couple fittings to "t" into an air valve on a tire (valve stem
removed) for the storage tank. Those little compressors are cheap, and will
easily run a half hour, but then let it cool for a few...

jig and weld, drill, file smooth, curse, repeat as necessary.
I ordered a 9"x 9" sheet from Wicks and sure enough, it arrives the
next day.
Sheet doesn't look like...

Throttle friction lock slipping - How do I stop this? by
Ron
Twenty year old throttle control with friction lock is slipping. Is
there a way to replace the nylon (material?) gripper that the screw
flange presses against that in turn presses against the throttle
shaft?
I could just replace the whole thing but that would be a BIG job. Any
and all suggestions...
