Can I build one of you items? by
Gig 601XL Builder
I'm getting closer to the point where I will be working on the panel of my
601XL and I need to ask you a question. I have little to know electronics
experience. Of course I'd never had any metal working experience and I think
I'm doing a pretty good job on my plane.
So the question is how much...

Soo.... is there like a (nazi)'moderator' that deletes posts if he
simply doesn't like them? I posted my idea of a dream airplane twice
and it was (apparently) deleted each time.
It would seem a shame if we don't have open discussion as long as it's
on-topic. what is this Iran?
I was refering to...

TAS vs. flap reflex angle by
ELIPPSE
I recently did a flight test of my Lancair 235 testing TAS, true air
speed, vs. the reflex angle of the flaps, i.e. angle of the flaps above
the wing surface. The test was flown at 1535 lb, 11,000' density
altitude, full-throttle, leaned for max rpm.

Need a box shaped nosebowl by
DonMorrisey
I have an experimental Bushcaddy with a Lyc O-235. I also have the
standard ACS nosebowl for a lyc: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/mc3a.php
My exhaust is a slightly modified Powerflow system. I have just
discovered I can't use my nosebowl because it is too rounded on the
bottom. ...

Sport pilot question by
[email protected]
The Sport Pilot regs say that a Private Pilot acting as a Sport Pilot
must have a current Bi-annual flight review, but I cannot find anything
in the Sport Pilot regs. that states that a Sport Pilot must have a
flight review of any kind after he/she gets the initial license. If
that is the case,...

Glasair instructor wanted. by
Thomas
Hi,
I am looking for instructor that has experience in Glasair I RG type
planes...... I had 10 hours of instruction in my Glasair I RG but I
am still having trouble flaring the plane properly over the runway
where I would chop the power just a foot above which cause it to sink
and jolt the plane....

Fuel Pump Clue requested by
Tim Hickey
I have a Zenith CH-300 with a Lyc 0-320. It has an engine mounted fuel
pump, and an electric aux pump. I also have a fuel pressure gauge, and
a low fuel pressure warning light. Today, for the first time, when I
did my pre-flight run-up, the low fuel pressure light came on. When I
looked at the fuel...

slightly off topic by
Rick Pellicciotti
The FAA has published a NPRM that if it becomes a rule will radically
change the way charity fund-raising flights are done and put most
vintage plane ride operations out of business.
This has been brought up on this group before but the deadline for
comments is looming. The comment period is open...

Static thrust for Sonex with 54" prop by
Mel
The Aero-Vee engines seem to be working out okay, but since they weigh
at least 160lbs, they might seem a bit heavy for the thrust produced.
They supposedly make 80hp at 3400 rpm. It matters little how much HP
they make, what matters is how much thrust is applied to the aircraft.
You could have...

Flying on the Cheap - Again by
[email protected]
To All:
A fellow homebuilder spotted a female air-hose quick-connect fitting on
a fuel I'd just finished sloshing (riveted aluminum tank) and told me
he hadn't bothered to pressure-test his tank since it was gravity feed
and he figured just filling it up was enough of a test. He went on to
say...

Smoke system using used propane torch bottle? by
Scott
I seem to recall a relatively simple smoke system that used a propane
torch bottle to hold the smoke oil and I believe it was pressurized with
air to eliminate the need for a pump. I realize it would only be good
for short bursts, but that is exactly the application I need. Any
reference to...
