Can You Name an "Aircraft-Accessible" Aviation Museum? by
Jay Honeck
In another post about the fabulous new Udvar-Hazy Center (part of the
National Air & Space Museum), frustration with not being able to fly into
this terrific new facility was evident. I personally find it appallingly
ironic that museums which purport to glorify flight are not accessible...

Hyabusa flat 8 by
bildan
'been scratchin' some paper.
It looks like a 2.6L flat opposed 8-cylinder could be made will not
too much difficulty from two Suzuki Hyabusa motorcycle cylinder
blocks. The electronic fuel injected 'busa puts out about 130HP so
two theoretically could make 260HP.
With 8 cylinders, the power...

Reaming by
Fortunat1[_12_]
Another stupid question!
Been reaming holes in a few 4130 plates. The reamer worked fine for about
20 holes and then the holes started getting a bit smaller to the point the
bolts got a bit snug.
In my ignorance I thought this one hand reamer would pretty much last me
the whole project, but...

Building an electronic Angle of Attack indicator by
Mike[_27_]
Has anyone built an electronic angle of attack meter kit. It seems to
be something that would be easy to design but beyond my feeble
electronics background.
I have seen the products that are out there and they are simple
differential pressure gauges and are expensive. I don't like the
round...

Removing Decals by

Our club just received our newest 172. The previous owner put a decal
on the door advertising his company and we would like to remove it
without harming the paint. Any suggestions?

"bush flying" in the suburbs? by

Among other aircraft I've been looking at the Zenith Air STOL CH 801
lately, which attracted my attention purely as an inexpensive and eaily
built plane to cart my family around. http://www.zenithair.com
But the advertised 390-ft fully-loaded ground roll got me fantasizing

what every boy needs - yeah seriously by

the venerable old VW engine conversion is quite usable.
if you were to take all the lessons learnt from all the engine
building done so far and apply them to a new engine design, what would
the new engine design look like?
I think the flat 4 makes a very serviceable aircraft...

wing levelers by

off-the-shelf electronic/computer components or gadgits for semi-automatic
wing leveling on lightly loaded, short wingspans.
Not being computer guys, the current thought is that something should be out
there that is...

I've not been to Oshkosh on the first weekend, always later in the week.
Can you walk around looking at planes (for free) on Saturday 23rd and Sunday

admission' at Oshkosh?

light twins? by
Bellsouth News Server
Greetings,
What light twins exist now? What I'd like to have is something like the
AirCam, for 100 mph, carefree low and scenic flying. Actually, push/pull
symetrical thrust would be even better. The AirCam would be fine as is, if
I could get a kit that's made from traditional materials, rather...

MoGas Long Term Test: 5000 gallons and counting... by

Yesterday I noticed that we had pumped more than 5000 gallons of mogas
through the Mighty Grape. This represents something like 60 complete fills
(our plane has four gas tanks, totaling 84 gallons), and around 350 hours of
flight time over the last 2.5 years.

Is it a habit we prefer mechnical instruments? by

We used to mechanical instruments when we learnt fly in school. Whether
it is habit we can not accept digital meters. For example quartz
crystal watch, we almost accept it now. There few people using
mechanical watch. I think it is developing direction for digital
meters.
I just wondered which...
