Lathe, drillpress, milling machine available, but..... by
Michael Horowitz
The local EAA chapter has a lathe, drillpress, milling machine, etc
set up in the back of the chapter house. As far as I can tell, the
lathe hasn't been used in a while. When I asked, someone rightly
replied they were concerned someone might hurt themselves using the
lathe. Having had some training...

SoCal hangar space? by
nauga
Does anyone know of any hangar space
available *anywhere* in Southern California?
I'll be moving my RV-4 out there sometime
around July. Prefer on or near SNA,
but I don't think I can be too picky.

Instrument Question by
Dick
Can a GPS with compass, heading & groundspeed capability be used legally in
lieu of a separate compass and airspeed instruments on an experimental
homebuilt airplane? Or at least in lieu of the separate compass?
Thanks

control cable questions by
Dick[_1_]
Having to reject the last nicropress
on the rudder, two strands were cut when the nircopress was cut off with a
drmel tool.
The question is whether we can reinstall a nicropress in the original
position and then add one an 1/8" further?? or,
Make splice two lengths of control cable with double...

Off The Wall Questions!!!!!!!!!!!! by
COLIN LAMB
Hey, I was the kid that aksed questions in school that made the teacher
wonder if they were in the right class so here goes:
1. If I built a large domed building, could I fly my helicopter inside
without a helicopter license? I know there is some debate about needing a
pilot license if you do...

Heading Hold Gyro. by
brian whatcott
I expect, like me, you thought you knew what heading hold gyros were all
about? If you haven't been around model helicopter enthusiasts lately,
you have no idea! Try googling 'heading hold gyro'.
It turns out, that radio control modelers stick a heading hold gyro on
their model helicopter and...

Anyone know a good way to make a belly baggage pod? by
Tedstriker
My Jurca Sirocco has so little baggage space, that it really needs
some extra room. I'd like to make a bomb-shaped belly pod, and have
seen some made on other homebuilts. I've heard of some of the Pitt's
S-1 guys welding two spinners together, back to back, but that doesn't
have the look I want....

Blueprinting a Continental O-200 by
Larry Smith
There ought to be some literature on this subject since so many O-200's have
been installed on the noses of Formula 1 racers and revved up to 4.5k rpm
while rocketing around the pylons.
Hows about it? Anybody know where it can be found? A fellow named
Fehling wrote essays on how to improve the...

Sport Pilot inconsistency by
frustrated flier
I am unclear on two Sport Pilot issues: First, a new pilot may qualify
for a Sport Pilot ticket even though he or she takes a medication that
would preclude a 3rd class medical. However, an experienced pilot with
a higher ticket may not operate as a Sport Pilot if he lost a medical
last year for...

My First Homebuilt by
choptopjim
I bought a started Homebuilt project from a Guy who passed on before finishing the build. His work is Top Notch and I don't think I will have any trouble getting his work accepted when I have the EAA people inspect the project. I believe that getting someone to look things over now is the best way...

Are 100% electric ultralights around? by
YouHelpBuild.com
What problems can anyone forsee to building a 100% electric ultralight
aircraft for short & mid-range commuters to get back & forth to work
(aside from air traffic issues... it IS a big sky after all)? I
understand the average commute is less than 30 miles in land based
vehicles which would...

Oshkosh rumor about camping by
Jim Gardiner
Reliability on this, is at best fair to unsubstantiated.....
The rumor is as follows:
Antique/classic/vintage/the guys south of the Communication Tower are not
letting any homebuilts camp in their camping area due to the fact Homebuilts
has a new camping area off the end of Papa 1.
Fact: there...
