Homebuilts and radios! by
Hi, I am finishing the construction of a J-3. I intend to have the
following in the aircraft and would like to know if you can give me any
hints or suggestions on the type, location and mounting of the antenna
farm. I would either like to hide the antennas or build them from
scratch or kit. I am...

Collins TDR-950 connector pin numbering by
MaxGain
Anyone know how the pins on a TDR-950 transponder connector are
numbered? As you are looking at the connector from the back of the
unit, left to right? Right to left?
Thanks.

OT - Statue of Liberty reopening B.S! by
Bart D. Hull
What is with this crap that they need to raise 5 million to
reopen the Statue of Liberty? Talk about ransom and terrorism
and our government is the source again!
The park service doesn't make enough with the fees they charge?
Talk about seriously ****ing people off. (Including me!)
Sorry, had to...

Auto conversion cost post by
Richard Riley
Sometime recently (last 6 months or so) there was a post about how
much a well done auto conversion costs. The point was that if you're
doing it right - rebuild with race quality parts, proven PSRU, etc -
that the initial installation isn't significantly less than a zero
timed LyCont. (I think...

Prop balancing and assorted observations - long by
Dave Hyde
I've had a kind of unnerving vibration in my RV-4 since first
flight. I looked into harmonic dampers, but they're pretty
expensive, so I decided to give dynamic balancing a shot first.
$200 and 1 hour later, my engine runs *much* smoother. It
measured 0.3+ ips on the first run, so the guy weighed...

VP-II wings available in Oregon, USA (Or, "How I was coconuted...") by
Roberto Waltman
Group,
In April I offered in Yahoo's Volksplane list, for free,
a set of VP-II wings, horizontal stabilizer and rudder
that I had in storage in Redmond, Oregon when I
realized I would not be able to retrieve them for
my project.
The first person to answer was a certain Peyton
Gentry aka Sean Ross...

HP-18 project flown 1500 hours with trailer by
Victor Bravo
Up for auction on ebay now is an HP-18 project. It has flown 1500 hours
but needs a complete rebuild. It NEEDS either wing contouring or use it
as a "quickbuild" kit for a Super-18 with the fuselage, tail, wing
spars and controls already built. Comes with a very good Gehrlein open
heavy duty...

RV Quick Build build times... by
[email protected]
I've had my eye on the RV aircraft for a very long time.
Anyone on this list finish a quick built RV?
How long did it take?
How much longer do you think the RV-10 QB will take when it's availible?
(More seats more interior, bigger, it should take take somewhat longer.)

Question on Pulsejets/Ramjets??? by
DarylG1532
First, Let me say that I know that these designs are "external" combustion.
That and that they're gas hogs compared to piston driven engines. My question
is: Since the advent of electronic fuel injection, has anyone tried to revamp
these designs to be more effective/effiencient?
If anyone has...

Well, Christmas is almost here and it's time once again for the Almost

I'm not feeling much pain either after half a quart of homebrew
"Ho,Ho,Ho!"), I think now is the proper time to send my Almost Annual

Alodine Max Setup time by
JDupre5762
I saw an article that says to not let Alodine sit for more than four
hours after application. One question is, does the group agree with
that? Second, if you don't get primer painted by that time, do you try
to wash it off, reapply, what?
The proper application of alodine is after...

RotoWay Helicopters by
James Taylor
Hey All,
I just caught the tip of a thred the past two weeks where pretty much
everyone derided RW helicopters.
I don't know all the personalities here yet so I won't mention names.
As a person seeking serious input, can someone guide me to info from
informaed sources, not just opinions?

Dang it, Jim, when are the Wrong Brothers going to provide baby-sitting
