Service Ceiling L23 - Litigation by
[email protected]
After reading the article I retrieved my copy of the L23 flight manual. Where does it say you can't fly it higher than 12,805 feet? There are VNE reductions calculated up to 35,000, but nowhere in it can I find a service ceiling limitation as the plaintiff seems to suggest there are.
Did I miss...

AMS Flight and LS6 Upper Rudder Bushing by
Dan M
Hello,
For those that don't know, AMS Flight (www.ams-flight.si) in Slovenia owns the type certificate on the LS4 and LS6 gliders, and has been providing support for them. Unlike DG, they do not require you to pay the "LS Tax". They do not support the LS1, LS3, or LS8.
That said, I emailed them...

New member so bare with me, but PW5, how does she fly? by
Howard Lau
I'm a rather new glider pilot and I am about to fly on the PW5 as my instructor deems me to be competent after training on the G103, I've seen photos and the glider seems small and the wingspan is only 10 meters or so, so I was wondering how she flies. Any PW-5 experiences?
Thanks!
Happy gliding!

OLC uploading disabled? What does it mean? by
Stephen Szikora
I just read this on the Naviter SeeYou page:
The OLC team (gliding) has decided to disable the API for uploading flights directly from apps and devices to OLC. For this reason, we were forced to remove the functionality from SeeYou and Oudie / Oudie Live apps.
Hoping that this is just a temporary...

Duo Discus Rides in 2017 ? by
[email protected]
Is anyone interested in selling Duo Discus rides next year at various stops along the competition circuit as KS and others have done over the years - either for the benefit of the US Team, SSA Juniors, another cause, or perhaps themselves?
One can never sell too many Duo Discus rides (preferably...

Pilots vs mechanics...enjoy by
[email protected]
Remember it takes a college degree to fly a plane, but only a high school diploma to fix one:
After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a gripe sheet, which tells mechanics about
problems with the aircraft.
The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on...

Typical glide angles with airbrakes deployed by
Ronald Locke
Can anyone help with references for glide ratios for basic training gliders, Blanik, K13, Puchatek etc, with full brake or half brake deployed?
The internet is not very helpful for finding this information. A reference of 29 to 1 for a K6 -no brake and 7.1 full brake is about all I can...

HELP. I need a TRUE story for television by Monday by
John Shelton
Fellow soarists,
I did not make myself clear. My apologies.
The production company is not making a slasher flick. It is trying to find
EXPEDITIONS with an element of danger that might include a survival segment.
In soaring, we have plenty of possible danger. These guys are seeking
expeditions....
