I think so. In general, the older PCATDs are loggable ONLY for ten hours
towards the instrument rating. They cannot be used for currency.

Recently, Elite prevailed on the FAA to revise the rules. There are now two
flavors of PCATD: "Basic" PCATD and "Advanced" PCATD. An Advanced PCATD is
loggable for currency, as is a Basic PCATD with a digital display radio stack.
i.e., setups with the blank stacks where the frequency displays on the monitor
are not loggable.

You may be able to find your school's configuration listed in the letter.

And, actually, the old mechanical simulators like the ATC-610 are loggable for
currency where most PCATDs are not.
