Extremely impressive museum and pictures. Another magnificent place I
will likely never get the chance to set foot in.

What aircraft is peeking out from the bottom right of this picture -
with the red spinner and the counter-rotating props?

And also the airship gondola, is a mockup - of the Roma related to
General Nobile is it?

Waldo.

Indeed on 2nd and 3rd look, not contra rotating at all! A pity I was
getting all excited at some postwar exotic Italian bird I could not
fathom. Mille grazie per tutte queste foto incredibili e per le
informazioni sul generale.

Waldo.

Hi Waldo,

Thank you for your comments. Yes, this museum was well worth the trip,
whatever my wife says, so it's lucky that she "volunteered" to stay at
home and look after the dogs!

;-)

Bottom right is a Spitfire Mk.IX in Italian colours, and it has a
four-bladed rather than a contra-rotating prop. I'll publish the
pictures of it on day ten of this series.

With regard to the gondola you are spot on, in that it is a replica and
it relates to General Nobile. There's more information he

...and here's the explanation board relating to the original aircraft -
I'll leave you to do the translation.
