TIA, Frank Whiteley Frank, I have installed the larger non congealing oil coolers on 0 and IO 470s , it takes the base and the cooler, and and because they are larger, it takes some inlet work to use the larger cooler. I have also added to the size of the cooling lip to draw more air thru it on several planes. The non congeiling cooler was sold by contenental as a upgrade kit for various engines, and came standard on others. Its been quite a while since I did one, but I remember it took very little work. a couple of shorter studs maybe? , it is mostly for very cold weather , but it also lowers the summer temps. They are not a lot bigger, but they do help. I also looked at the RAM baffel kit, and copied it, It also helped as it seals better. The 182 installation is kinda loose, mosty I think because in normal operations they are not a cooling problem. Are the cowl flaps set to go full open and a little more? John Barron |

John Barron Now I see, a 59 model, no cowl flaps right, try the bigger outlet lip if you haven't yet. I added 3 inches. jb |
