If you're interested and if you're using Google Groups, type "Lacovara
gelcoat" and you'll see a bunch of very informative discussions over
the years. The short answer is "lots of stuff probably contributes"
including environmental factors, finishing techniques, application
techniques, flexing, and the phase of the moon.

I think development of cracks/crazing/any defect at all in gel coat on
glider is inversely proportional to annual income of glider owner.

(Based purely on observation. Of my own glider and wallet.)
