Default Lowrance Airmap 2000c Aviation GPS

I am unot/u selling this item here. The GPS unit is collecting
dust in my closet. It was purchased in March 2005 and was only
briefly used (Got divorced. Can no longer afford to fly). Now that I
am getting ready to sell it, apparently there is a "terrain update"
that it needs in order for someone else to want to buy it. The
Lowrance web site has a pdf download, but it does not tell me how to
get the update or what it will cost. Can someone please advise?

And just to make this post more useful. I love this GPS unit. In my
opinion, GPS is the best improvement to the flying experience since
the invention of the propeller. And Lowrance has a great aviation
GPS.

Posted replies appreciated. Thank you.

I looked into this GPS, and some of the ads I saw said they included the $99
terrain update.

FWIW, the best price I found was $539, but when I cancelled the order when
it hadn't shipped in two weeks.

How much are you asking for it as is?

If I were you, I would just sell it on ebay without the updates. You will
probably spend more buying the updates than any additional amount you would
get out of the GPS.

Thanks for your note. I have this item on Craigslist for $250.00, but
I may have to
reconsider that price if indeed the terrain update is $99.

At this time I am looking for a local buyer (Bay Area, California).
Mainly because
I no longer have the original box. Shipping a GPS and its heavy
battery seems
like asking for trouble.

You may be right about the as-is thing. But then again, that might
drop
the price to where it's not worth the trouble of selling. I'm still
thinking
about what to do.
