Motorglider hours same as glider?

Aero tow
Ground launch(winch or auto)
Self launch
Flying a self launch sailplane is a way to get a glider certificate. Then additional training is required to get endorsed for the other launch types.

Unless things have changed, I don't think a student can solo in self-launch under the SSA Group Plan. There may be other options.

That has been my experience. I bought a Pipistrel Sinus with the
intention of teaching my wife to fly in it. Costello said, "NO, only
/_licensed_/ and /_named_/ pilots" can fly a motor glider on their policy.

....So she's learning in a G-0102...
