By the way, I am still angered at this essentially compulsory =
requirement to buy new and expensive equipment. It may have become =
desirable and even essential in very busy areas, but for those of us who =
fly where traffic is not dense, airspace is simple and where see and =
avoid has never failed, it feels like extortion. More so when the ATC =
agencies themselves have delayed implementing mode-S enabled ground =
equipment.
