![]() "JJS" jschneider@remove socks cebridge.net wrote in message ... snip My .22-250 at present is a Savage M12-VSS with a Leupold Vari-X III 6.5-20x50mm LR Target which was tweaked by a local smithy. It's the only vaminter I still have. Hey, That's what I have on the Ackley Improved! 600 yds. is very impressive with any combo. I've nailed coyotes with it at 600, but my son has taken prairie dogs at that range. He uses Sierra 77gr HPBT Matchkings and completely reworks the cases. I watched him through a 40X spotting scope and could barely make out the dog standing in the burrow. He shot it in the ass and it cartwheeled in the air. He's off in the Navy now, and he was the only kid who enjoyed varminting. I miss that. -- Matt --------------------- Matthew W. Barrow Site-Fill Homes, LLC. Montrose, CO |
